MONTAÑA BAZOFIA
PENJEAN, LORENA
Based on a Chilean television show which takes the form of a mock news broad cast fronted by puppets, 31 Minutos Presenta: Montaña Bazofia utilizes sarcastic and carefree humor to present Tulio Triviño, a well known, yet egotistical figure of the public eye. Convinced that the acquisition of a neck tie once owned by a distant relative will win him favor with the "Señor Amable" award, Tulio Triviño embarks on a journey to Montaña Bazofia, a destitute location inhabited by his forgotten family. While Tulio Triviño gains familiar favor and acquires the neck tie, his selfishness is his most lasting attribute as he again denies his familial relations to return to egotism and fame. It is said that Tulio Triviño's character is a parody of Bernardo de la Maza, a once famous Chilean journalist from the mid 1970s to early 1990s.
