In the Moscow of 1918, the absence of censorship that follows the October Revolution promptly gives way to an even greater censorship. So the novelist and bibliophile Mihail Osorgin, along with a handful of fellow intellectuals in Moscow, decides to open what came to be known as The Writers’ Bookshop.
