In 1767, Francisco Xavier Clavigero had to leave New Spain because of the expulsion of his order out of Hispanic territories. Three years later, he found refuge in the Italian city of Bologna where he wrote his books about Mexico's prehispanic past. This compilation is an attempt to analyze and understand the Venezuelan Jesuit legacy trough the study of his life, his writings, the context in which he lived in, his way of thinking, his religion and the transcendence of his works.
