The book was first published in English on the occasion of an exhibition at the Philadelphia Museum of Art, Oct. 27-Dec. 12, 1999. Includes texts, photographs and the notebooks of artist Orozco (b.Jalapa, Veracruz, Mexico, 1962), a combination of images and objects defined by Ann Temkin as: "[Photogravity] reflects on Orozco's search of the relation between object and image. A sculpture can be a 3D photograph; and a photograph, a bi-dimensional sculpture. The distinctions between object and image probably were never as clear as we thought them, but Orozco brings our attention to ambiguities and the rich possibilities that this relationship holds"
