This wonderful book on religious sculpture captures the height of the Baroque style in Mexico. The book is fully illustrated and it includes two essays: "Oyeme con los ojos: elogio del cuerpo entrevisto" and "Esculturas novohispanas: talleres y técnicas." Both essays are tranlated: "Hear me with your Eyes: In Praise of the Body Veiled" and "The Sculpture of the New Spain: Workshops and Techniques." The selection of sculptures for the book is based on the collection at the Franz Mayer Museum in Mexico City.
